How Auto Transport Works

From your free quote to final delivery, here's exactly what to expect when you ship your car with Liberty Auto Transport — simple, transparent, and fully insured.

Ship Your Car in 3 Easy Steps

No paperwork headaches, no surprises. Here's the whole process from start to finish.

1

Get a Quote

Tell us about your vehicle, pickup and delivery locations, and get a free, no-obligation quote in under 60 seconds.

2

Schedule Pickup

Approve your carrier and we schedule a convenient pickup time and location that works for you.

3

We Deliver

We transport your vehicle safely and deliver it right to your desired location, door to door.

What to Expect, Step by Step

01

We Secure Your Carrier

First, we post your vehicle through our network, including all National Dispatch Boards for auto transport, and present offers from FMCSA-licensed and insured carriers. When you accept your preferred company, we send an agreement that guarantees the price, door-to-door service, and 100% bumper-to-bumper insurance.

02

Your Vehicle Is Picked Up

Once you approve your carrier and final logistics, you pay a small deposit that's included in your quote and goes toward the total price. The remaining balance is due at delivery — and nothing happens without your approval. Your driver contacts you to confirm a convenient pickup time.

03

The Carrier Delivers Your Vehicle

Your driver contacts you ahead of delivery to arrange a time for unloading. When your vehicle arrives, you complete a final inspection and pay the remaining balance. Finally, you and the driver both sign the Bill of Lading and each keep a copy for your records.

Open vs. Enclosed Transport

Two ways to ship — pick what fits your vehicle and budget. Not sure? We'll help you choose.

Open Transport

Most Popular · Best Value

Your car ships on a standard multi-vehicle carrier — the same way most new cars are delivered to dealerships.

  • The most affordable shipping option
  • Faster availability and scheduling
  • Ideal for everyday cars, trucks, and SUVs

Preparing Your Car for Shipment

A little prep goes a long way. Follow these steps for a smooth, hassle-free pickup.

1

Clean Your Vehicle

Wash your car inside and out so an accurate inspection can be completed before shipping.

2

Check Fluid Levels

Ensure all fluids are adequate, including oil, coolant, brake fluid, and power steering.

3

Check the Battery

Make sure your battery is fully charged and in good working condition for loading.

4

Inspect Tires

Check tire pressure and condition. Proper inflation helps prevent delays during transport.

5

Remove Personal Items

Take out all personal belongings. Carriers are not responsible for personal items.

6

Disable Alarms

Disable any alarm systems to prevent disruptions during loading and transport.
